From the Blue Bird fresco found in Knossos - a bird that has its beak closed and is of an uncertain species. The Minoans recreated their world in their frescoes and sometimes incorporated all the seasons into them, adding a sense of otherworldiness, for instance flowers that bloomed at different times of the year might be shown together. Here, surrounded by wild roses and lilies, is the blue bird perched or possibly rising?
