The Adventures of Dally Dachshund
April - an adventure in Edinburgh, Scotland
On the 1 April, Dally found he was in a beautiful red, green and golden balloon.
He was able to look down on Edinburgh, itself, but found he could look up at its castle, which was higher than he was!
Edinburgh Castle had been built on a big rock called Castle Rock during the 12th century by David I, son of St Margaret of Scotland. Amazinly the rock itself was formed after a volcano erupted 340 million years ago!
Dally heard there had been an earlier castle on the rock, before the one there now, that had been a shrine to nine maidens, one who was Morgan le Fay.
Dally loved Scotland and decided to make a special visit to see the Highlands.
