May - an adventure in Snowdonia, Wales
On the first day of May, Dally found he was in a new red, blue and golden balloon.
He was floating in Snowdonia and in the distance he could see the Snowdon range of 11 peaked mountains, all of which are over 600 metres high.
In the growing darkness they appeared as a variety of dark blue shadows, most of which were reflected on the water of the lake and looked as if they might be pointing at him.
The air was so fresh and the lake was so quiet, that along with the slow rocking of his basket, carrying him over the water, Dally fell gently to sleep.
